Today’s horses are descendants from this mule looking horse that roamed Europe over 30,000 years ago. Similar looking horses can still be found today in northern China. North America’s original wild horse became extinct approximately 20,000 years ago but were reintroduced by the first Spanish conquistadors in the early 1500’s.
